Microbiomes and Planetary Health: "Dive into the vital role of microbiomes in the 'Planetary Health' concept at our session. This talk will present current research exploring how diverse environmental microbiomes interact and influence each other, especially under the pressures of climate change. We'll also discuss the implications for preventing environmental diseases."

The role of microbiomes in the “Planetary Health” concept
Prof. Michael Schloter
(Head of the Institute of Comparative Microbiome Analysis at Helmholtz Munich)
Microbiomes are a crucial component of the “Planetary Health” concept. They play an extremely important role in the functioning of ecosystems and fulfill key functions that support the health of the planet, including nutrient cycling, climate regulation and water filtration. Microbiomes also interact with almost all higher eukaryotes, including animals, plants and humans, and fulfill important tasks for the health of the respective hosts. Although we are gradually understanding that microbiomes interact with each other in different ecosystems, there is still little understanding of how microbiomes from different environments can influence each other and how changes in environmental microbiomes e.g. as a result of climate change, influence our health. I will show in my presentation some examples of current research in this field and discuss consequences of our results for the prevention of Environmental Diseases.
Creativity, Collaboration and Communication - Art for the AI Future
Dr. Annika Schoemann
(Founder of Wunderkammaa)
In the age of AI, automation, and system control, the role of art is evolving to provide new perspectives, viewpoints, and approaches.
Art has always been intrinsically motivated and positioned to challenge conventional norms and paradigms, offering avenues for exploring the unknown. With the increasing reliance on digital processes and skills, there is a growing need for artistically philosophical approaches to complex issues and artistically practical approaches to neural networks.
Through creativity, communication, and collaboration, art and culture serve as a tether to our social and interpersonal roots, facilitating connections and understanding amidst technological advancements.
