As of today, astronomers detected more than 5000 planets orbiting around stars that are not our own Sun. We detected rocky planets like or bigger than our Earth, gaseous giants more massive than Jupiter or smaller versions of Neptune, all together forming planetary architectures very different from our own Solar System.
