Paleovirology - How Ancient Viruses Shaped Evolution
Christoph Henkel
(BNITM)
Currently, Christoph is completing his PhD thesis at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg.
Over the past years, his research has focused on biosafety level 4 viruses, with a strong emphasis on the Ebola virus. Working in the Virus Immunology group under the supervision of Prof. Dr. César Muñoz-Fontela has not only equipped him with the skills to work with viruses but also provided insights into the functioning of the immune system, particularly during infections.
