Artificial Light and Light Pollution

I study artificial light and light pollution at the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. I also teach a course at the FU about how visible and infrared light interact with the Earth's atmosphere. At PoS, I'll attempt to condense the entire course into a 20-minute discussion. Der Forschungsfall Nachtigall

Wo singt die Nachtigall in Berlin? Singt die Nachtigall in Dialekten, & welche Sehnsüchte verbinden Menschen mit ihrem Gesang? Im Forschungsfall Nachtigall wollen wir diesen Fragen nachgehen. Zwischen April & Juli '18 laden wir alle Bürger in Berlin & Umgebung ein, mit der kostenfreien Naturblick-App Nachtigall-Gesänge zu sammeln. Die Daten wollen wir ab dem Herbst mit Hilfe aller beteiligten Bürger & den Wissenschaftlern des Teams analysieren, um gemeinsam neue Erkenntnisse zur Variabilität des Nachtigall-Gesanges und zu Einflüssen auf das Verbreitungsmuster dieser Art zu gewinnen.

The Life of a Museum Collection Manager

Zu meinen Aufgaben gehört die technische Betreuung der Sammlung aller fossilen Invertebraten (z.B. Schnecken, Muscheln, Korallen). Das bedeutet ich verleihe wissenschaftliche Objekte, betreue Gäste, ordne & digitalisiere die Sammlung Die Erweiterung & der Erhalt der Pflege stehen im Fokus. Zurzeit beschäftigte ich mich hauptsächlich mit der Vorbereitung des Umzuges zurück in die historischen Räume aus dem derzeitigen Außenlager. Um mehr über meine Arbeit im MfN Berlin zu erfahren, kommt vorbei!
